NewsBin Pro Version 3.3

The first time you start NewsBin, it will walk you through a series of screens.  This setup also occurs whenever you select "File" and "New" on the NewsBin Menu Bar.

The first screen is an introductory screen telling you what is needed during the setup process.

The next screen asks you to input the name of your news server.  This form is not asking for a URL to a web site.  This is the address of your NNTP News Server.  Most ISP's provide one for you but AOL does not have NNTP news.  MSN does have a news server but they have locked us out by requiring non-standard user authentication (typical Microsoft).  If you are an AOL or MSN user, click here.

Most news servers provided by an ISP does not require authentication because you are accessing it from their network.  If you are using a third party news server, you will need to fill in the username and password that was given to you when you signed up for the news service.  When in doubt, fill this in.  NewsBin only offers the username and password to the server if the server requests authentication.

NewsBin comes pre-loaded with the common binaries groups available on usenet.  This setup screen allows you to choose some groups to get started.  To get the complete list, you will want to go to the "Groups" menu option from NewsBin's main screen and select "Download Groups".

Ok, you're done!
