Automatic Download

This checkbox toggles NewsBin between Automatic Mode and Manual Mode.  If the checkbox is marked, files will automatically be queued for download as the headers for the posts are downloaded.  You can start downloading by going to the Groups Bar and double-click on a group.  Or, select multiple groups and either click the "Go" button, or right-click on selected group (or groups) and select "Process Group".

De-selecting the "Automatic Download" checkbox puts NewsBin in Manual Mode which allows you to choose the binaries you want to download on the fly.  To obtain a list of headers from a particular newsgroup, go to the Groups Bar and double-click on a group. You can download all the headers from a list of newsgroups by highlighting the desired newsgroups and doing a right-click and selecting "Process Groups".  You can also hit CTRL-G to do the same thing.

Show Filtered Posts

When this checkbox is selected, all posts in the Post List are shown, regardless of filter settings.

Reset

This button resets the global counter of number of bytes downloaded from USENET.  This button is useful when you have a news server that limits your amount of monthly downloads.  Click the "Reset" button at the beginning of each billing cycle to help you stay under your limit.

Find

This box allows you to place search criteria on the headers in the Post List.  It makes use of Regular Expression Parsing which is, in itself, an advanced topic.  For most uses, you can simply type in a word or portion of a word in this field and NewsBin will filter out any posts not containing the word.
