Version 5.55 Release Candidate 5 - March 9, 2010
- Fixed dynamic update of post list so status of posts get updated in real time.
- Fixed issue with posts marked old showing up as new again.
- Fixed Autoshutdown.
- Fixed issue where duplicate entries were accumulating in the configuration file.
- Changed Posting interface to use different edit box.
- Fixed issue in posting where newlines were getting stripped.
- Fix out of space checking. Now pauses download as long as the warning message is up. Checks the drives for both the Data and Download paths.

- Tweaked code for Compact View, it was compacting too much in some cases

Version 5.55 Beta 10 - February 8, 2010
- Made XFeatures support more tolerant of different server implementations. Now works with Usenetserver, Easynews, and Newshosting. Verified it still works on Giganews and Astraweb.
- Fixed issue with Read Post Body when Chunks Folder mode is turned on.
- Internal changes that may speed header downloads.
Version 5.55 Beta 9 - February 4, 2010
- Fixed problem where amount queued and estimated time remaining displayed in the Status Bar wouldn't increment.
- NZB: Fixed issue where underscore is was getting added to NZB folder name.
- Files List: Fixed issue when files are purged from the list, the entries where remaining as "Deleted".
- Files List: > 4000 file purge wasn't working.
- Autopar: If you had a file like "tests.rar.r05" Newsbin would mis-identify the file as a "first file" and the unrar would fail.
- Display: Hide Old now controls whether old's are loaded depending on the setting of hide old mode in the options.
Version 5.55 Beta 8 - January 28, 2010
- New feature under Options/Switches allows control of whether "Show Posts" reads old posts into memory or not. Posts downloaded or marked old will no longer be read from disk which could lead to faster load times.
- Fixed crash problem when deleting files from AutoPAR tab.
- Autopar: Decode button now will attempt to decode whats in place. If the file fails decode, it'll still be waiting in the list.
- Quickdecode moved to right click menu along with decode button.
- Per group autopar disable now functions. The group wasn't getting passed to the checker code.
- The "add pars to pars list" option has moved into the AutoPAR options screen.
- Fixed case where encrypted files might fail to decode but, get deleted anyway. Need more samples though
- Icon doesn't go red or yellow when paused.
- Removed RV2 conversion processing. If you need to upgrade from a version prior to 5.50, install and run 5.54 first, which
still has .RV2 conversion capabilities.
- Installer: Fixed issue where user could leave news server address blank
- Installer: Fixed issue where 64 bit uninstaller filename was wrong (used 32 bit name).
- Added "Low Res" thumbnails back in to get some performance back during high speed picture downloads

Version 5.55 Beta 7 - January 19, 2010
- Fixed email notifications. Decoded files (from AutoPAR) get email notifications. Errors get emailed out too. Individual files don't get notifications
- Fixed issue deleting Poster lockouts
- Removed progress and status message lines from the bottom of the Autopar tab. Status and progress are in columns now.
- Fixed issue where deleting from the servers tab wasn't working correctly. Also fixed right-click option to close the tab.
- Fixed "Down" button in Download list. Was moving to top instead. Maintaining selection when using buttons is still broken
- Display: Slight changes to spacing in post tab due to changes in the length of time the "download month" dropdown now displays.
- Display: Expanded the "load month" back to 2 years (24 months).
- Download: Files list time stamp wasn't being preserved on restart.
- Download: Single Parters. If the NB! file already exists on disk during setup or download, delete it first.
- Now deletes the NB! if the header in the NB! is bad
- Fixed problem where nb! files would be left if you delete a multipart file from the download list
- Fixed issue causing for zombie chunks.
- Fixed issue where Newsbin would sometimes not exit when it is closed.
- Installer now has both 32 and 64 bit versions in same file.
Version 5.55 Beta 6 - January 11, 2010
- Use different tbb.dll file that is statically linked. This will enable multi-core support during AutoPAR repair if the processor is multi-core. Should not require the Microsoft Redistributable package on older OS's or Linux/Wine anymore.
- Fixed issue where signature matches were leaving .NB! files behind.
- Fixed multi-threading issue caused by move of download engine down into the GUI was causing some download chunks to go into limbo.
- Fixed issue with Quick Decode where subject and group are blank.
- Many changes in AutoPAR:
- Scan now happens in its own thread so, assembly runs at full speed.
- Hook "Early Decode" back up again.
- Clean the PARS out of the par list earlier in the process to prevent spurious PAR downloads.
- The "itimpi" changes:
- Downloads in the internal queue, downloaded but, not autorared will get scanned before any repair is attempted.
- Repair will happen after scanning. Good files will decode, bad files repaired.
- Newsbin defaults to decoding if all RAR or QPMS files are present even if other small files are currently missing. This should greatly
reduce repairs to generate small text files. It can be overridden in the configuration and will probably get a GUI.

5.55 Beta 4 - January 4, 2010
- Search: Added clear button to clear search string.
- Search: Added "Hide Old", only applies to local search.
- Search: Search wasn't using localized strings for all elements.
- Local search wan't searching unchecked groups. It will now.
- Autopar: Started work on an interface to provide passwords to use on password protected RAR files. Not complete. - Download: Last chunk re-download in restart and retry.
- Autopar: Fixed Quick Decode. QPMS Quickdecode works too even though the files are already assembled in the files list
- Fixed issue with AutoPAR creating bogus folders
- Display: Shift-delete in post list wasn't placing the cursor in the proper place.
- Display: Progress bar when loading NZB's into a post list working again,
- Display: When "Download to New Folder" use the base folder and not the folder + new filename when storing last used folder.
- Download: changed RAR lib to not change file dates
- Download: Fixed issue where sampled files had an incorrect date in the files list
- Startup: Check to see if the data folder is writable.
- Headers: force header counts to be atomically incremented forever (until deleted).
- Posts: Changed to "one file per group" Range.db3 so, all eggs aren't in one basket. Each group has its own range.db3 file now. Hoping this will help protect against issues that occur if the range.db3 file gets corrupted
- Header Download: If you have incomplete files that are completed by another server, they won't actually show complete
until you get a full cycle of header and re-load with a re-write. After re-write, the posts become complete.
So, loading an RV4 that has the files split either in the same RV4 or between multiple RV4's prevents them from being complete till after a re-write.
- NZB - Make it load GZ compressed NZB's.
NOTE: Some machines might show an error loading par2dll.dll. PAR processing will be disabled if this happens.
The solution is to download this Microsoft Redistributable Package.
5.55 Beta 3 - December 18, 2009
- AutoPAR: Some pars weren't adding a new line to the autopar tab - both update and new can now add pars to the GUI
- AutoPAR: Now supports multiple cores during PAR repair. Single core machines will see no difference.
- AutoPAR: Fixed issue when sorting on filename.
- Fixed issue where some decoded files don't get deleted from AutoPAR tab
- Fixed potential crash problem in AutoPAR
5.55 Beta 2 - December 14, 2009
- Search: Fixed issue when cancelling an Internet Search query. It would cause the search tab to never return.
- Fixed issue where downloading headers while a post list is open wasn't updating the post list.
- Autopar: Now shows complete subject instead of filename
- Autopar: Created a worker thread to handle populating and status updates and keep Autopar from locking the GUI
- Autopar: Foreign character interaction with par files caused a misnamed file

5.55 Alpha 2 - December 3, 2009
- Fixed issue launching image viewer from double-clicking on thumbnails when image DB is turned on.
- Name collision through reuse of member variables resulted in lost updates from new RV4 files
- New headers that referred to older posts weren't promoting the older posts to the latest date so,
it could appear that 4 day old posts were just showing up. Now, updated headers can promote the date of older posts.
- Files list is saved on exit now instead of on the fly.
- Fixed PAR cleanup from the scratch list.
- Now removes chunks folder after download completes.
